Terms of Service

Thrubit is a local development tool designed to help developers build and test AWS Step Functions, Lambda functions, and CloudFormation templates on their own machines.

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Thrubit website, desktop application, services, documentation, workflow library, APIs, and related offerings (collectively, the “Services”) provided by SUMMUS LLC, doing business as Thrubit (“Thrubit,” “we,” “our,” or “us”).

By accessing or using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a legally binding agreement to use the Services. If you use the Services on behalf of a company or organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity to these Terms.

2. Services Overview

Thrubit provides tools for developing, testing, debugging, visualizing, replaying, and managing AWS Step Functions, Lambda workflows, and related cloud-integrated processes locally and in connected environments.

Features may include:

  • Local Step Functions execution
  • Local Lambda execution
  • Local testing integrations for AWS services
  • Workflow visualization and debugging tools
  • AI and Bedrock-related integrations
  • Workflow templates and examples
  • Collaboration and team functionality
  • Trial, subscription, and enterprise offerings

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Services at any time.

3. Accounts

You may need to create an account to access certain Services.

You agree to:

  • Provide accurate information
  • Keep your login credentials secure
  • Notify us immediately of unauthorized access
  • Be responsible for all activity under your account

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Trial Versions

Thrubit may offer free trials, beta access, preview releases, or evaluation licenses.

Trial or beta software may:

  • Contain bugs or incomplete functionality
  • Change without notice
  • Be subject to usage limitations
  • Be discontinued at any time

Unless otherwise stated, trial access is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind.

5. Subscription and Payments

Certain Services require payment through recurring subscriptions or one-time purchases.

By purchasing a subscription, you agree that:

  • Fees are billed in advance
  • Subscription fees are non-refundable except where required by law
  • We may change pricing with reasonable notice
  • Your subscription may automatically renew unless canceled before renewal

Failure to pay may result in suspension or termination of access.

6. License Grant

Subject to these Terms, Thrubit grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Services for your internal business or personal use.

You may not:

  • Resell or sublicense the Services
  • Reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code except where prohibited by law
  • Remove proprietary notices
  • Use the Services to build a competing product
  • Circumvent technical limitations or licensing controls
  • Share licenses beyond permitted seat counts

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Services unlawfully
  • Upload malicious code or harmful content
  • Attempt unauthorized access to systems or accounts
  • Interfere with platform operation or security
  • Use the Services to violate AWS or third-party terms
  • Store or process illegal, infringing, or abusive content

We may investigate and take action against misuse.

8. Customer Data

You retain ownership of workflows, code, prompts, configurations, and other content you provide (“Customer Data”).

You grant Thrubit a limited license to host, process, and transmit Customer Data solely to provide and improve the Services.

You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining backups
  • Configuring your AWS credentials securely
  • Ensuring your use complies with applicable laws and agreements
  • Reviewing outputs generated by AI or automated systems

9. AWS and Third-Party Services

Thrubit integrates with AWS and other third-party platforms.

You acknowledge that:

  • Your use of AWS services remains subject to AWS terms
  • AWS costs incurred outside local or mock modes are your responsibility
  • Third-party services may change independently of Thrubit
  • We are not responsible for third-party outages or failures

10. AI and Generated Outputs

Certain features may involve generative AI, automated responses, or workflow-generated outputs.

AI-generated content:

  • May be inaccurate or incomplete
  • Should be reviewed before production use
  • Is provided without guarantees of correctness, legality, or fitness for a particular purpose

You are solely responsible for decisions made using generated outputs.

11. Intellectual Property

Thrubit and its related software, branding, documentation, designs, workflows, graphics, and content are owned by SUMMUS LLC or its licensors and protected by intellectual property laws.

No rights are granted except as expressly stated in these Terms.

12. Feedback

If you provide suggestions, ideas, or feedback, you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free license to use and incorporate that feedback without restriction or compensation.

13. Confidentiality

If you receive non-public information about Thrubit, you agree not to disclose or misuse it without written permission.

This includes beta features, roadmap information, pricing discussions, and unreleased functionality.

14. Privacy

Your use of the Services is also governed by our Privacy Policy.

You acknowledge that internet transmissions and cloud-connected services cannot be guaranteed completely secure.

15. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.”

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THRUBIT DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING:

  • MERCHANTABILITY
  • FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE
  • NON-INFRINGEMENT
  • ACCURACY
  • RELIABILITY
  • AVAILABILITY

We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

16. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

THRUBIT SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, BUSINESS, OR GOODWILL.

17. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Thrubit, SUMMUS LLC, and their officers, employees, and affiliates from claims arising out of:

  • Your use of the Services
  • Your Customer Data
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of third-party rights or laws

18. Termination

You may stop using the Services at any time.

We may suspend or terminate access immediately if:

  • You violate these Terms
  • We believe your use creates legal or security risk
  • Required by law

Upon termination, your license ends immediately.

19. Export Compliance

You agree to comply with all applicable export control and sanctions laws, including United States export regulations.

You may not use the Services in prohibited jurisdictions or for prohibited activities.

20. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Any legal action shall be brought in the courts located in Maricopa County, Arizona, unless otherwise required by law.

21. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time.

Updated Terms become effective when posted. Continued use of the Services after changes means you accept the revised Terms.

23. Entire Agreement
